This weeks talkDRAGONS article is a read about our real impact, effort from all and a change we are all contributing to.

Our charity partners, in which we wear their logo proudly, Alive and Kicking is the world’s only not-for-profit ball manufacturer. Their centres across sub-Saharan Africa create hundreds of ethical jobs for adults facing disadvantage. Profits from balls sales and additional fundraising give young people access to sport and health education through A+K ball donations and the delivery of effective sport based health programmes.

MAKE
Alive and Kicking provide ethical jobs for people from communities facing disadvantage. Employees have access to benefits that are often taken for granted including a fair wage, holiday and sick pay and a pension scheme. 99% of their staff are local and have access to a range of role opportunities from ball production and marketing to sales and finance.

PLAY
Using the profits made from selling sports balls, plus additional fundraising, Alive and Kicking donate locally made durable balls across our vast network of trusted community and sport organisations. Their ball is proven to last up to eight times longer than a standard synthetic and ten years of research has shown that each donated ball reaches 45 young people.

LIVE
Proceeds from selling balls in country as well as fundraising through A+K UK contribute to training local community coaches and school teachers to deliver vital health education through sport. Over the next two years they have secured funding to deliver health education to thousands of children and young people

We as a grassroots football club, have helped immensely the impact in these incredible stats and we can’t wait to keep growing them. Your help has been vital and please look out for our email early February with the outlined projects we are holding with Alive and Kicking this year.

In the meantime, come say hello and join our football session on Sunday 24th January with A+K CEO Ben Sadler. We look forward to seeing you there!
