Your January News

January Training Topics

This January has seen all of our UDFC players working on keeping possession of the football. Through a series of passing and first touch drills we have placed an emphasis on maintaining possession of the football for a purpose, all our players have now progressed with this skill.

Next month we will be looking at Creating and Converting chances. To advance from our previous topic, we will now have the players focusing on the attacking element of the game. How they problem solve and unlock defences. This is always a fun topic and one the children often enjoy. We look forward to hearing any feedback you have on the sessions.

League Updates

United Dragons have played a massive 160 games since the start of the season in September across U7-U13! What an impressive achievement so far.

In terms of the performance of our teams, we have currently achieved a 65% win ratio.
I’m delighted to announce that our U8’s are in the final of the Cup! Our U10s & U11’s are in the semi finals and our 12’s are currently in the quarter finals. Good luck boy’s.

Plenty to look forward too. Let’s keep it up Dragons!

UD Futsal News

First, an introduction to our Head Futsal Coach Denerson Moreira.

Denerson has played both professional Football and Futsal in Brazil - he moved to London to carry on playing professionally and then found his home with UD and his Futsal career with ProFutsala.

When Denerson and Daryl sat down, they wanted to create a Futsal club for our football players to help them develop in the best way. Little did they know, that our sessions would grow to 25 players, training and learning Futsal every Monday in the heart of Hampstead.

Denerson leads the session and has introduced the Futsal game to our players, whilst learning the difference between Football and Futsal.

So far in 2020 Denerson has being introducing Futsal tactics, the specific movements and fundamentals.

The UD Futsal players have also been focused to improve their touches on the ball - some specific Futsal rules here:

  • better control

  • better passing

  • quicker decision making

  • moving the ball out at all times

  • making sure the players express themselves with skill

With the great improvement already made - Coach Denerson thinks the team is ready to play their first competitive Futsal match.

From February onwards, we are looking to recruit players to play in the first UD Futsal game in March.

All our players will be attending a professional Futsal match to cheer on our very own Denerson and go on the pitch at Half Time.
